Trot Times for May 7, 2015

A real quick look at Thursday’s trots.

Home Run of the Day: Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees – 24.37 seconds [video]
Yasmani Grandal had a great day for the Dodgers (including two three-run home runs), but until someone else passes Willie Mays on the all-time home run list, this one belongs to A-Rod. Another quick trot for Rodriguez, as far as these things go. Of course, as far as the Yankees are concerned, this never really happened.

“We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.”

Slowest Trot: Yasmani Grandal #1, Los Angeles Dodgers – 25.68* seconds [video]
Two home runs, eight RBIs for Grandal. That’s a good afternoon. Grandal edges out Adam Lind for the slowest trot of the day, who was in the opposing dugout on Thursday. Milwaukee-area fans saw some slow trots this week, that’s for sure.

Quickest Trot: Kevin Kiermaier, Tampa Bay Rays – 18.87 seconds [video]
Yet another day with only one trot clocking in under 20 seconds.

About Larry Granillo

Larry Granillo has been writing Wezen Ball since 2008 and has dealt with such touchy topics as Charlie Brown's baseball stats and Ferris Bueller's day off. In 2010, he got the bright idea to time every home run trot in baseball; he has been missing ever since.
