Trot Times for June 9, 2015

Let’s get right to those trots!

Home Run of the Day: Edwin Encarnacion, Toronto Blue Jays – 24.84* seconds [video]
I was going to give this to Matt Duffy or Joe Panik, the Giants players whose home runs helped make Chris Heston’s no-hitter possible on Tuesday, but then I saw this blast from Edwin Encarnacion. A walkoff blast from one of my favorite sluggers in the game might have been enough to earn the honor, but he sealed it with one of the best walkoff celebrations I’ve seen in years. Watch Encarnacion run down the line in the tweet below (he carries the bat with him until he reaches the coach’s box!) then click on the video above to see how the team celebrated with him at the plate (hint: he loses his jersey). Just a lot of fun.

Slowest Trot: Aramis Ramirez, Milwaukee Brewers – 25.56 seconds [video]
Ramirez’s stroll beats out the Encarnacion walkoff for the slowest trot of the day.

Quickest Trot: Joey Terdoslavich, Atlanta Braves – 18.26 seconds [video]
One of two players to hit his first career home run last night – Houston’s much-heralded prospect Carlos Correa also went yard for the first time – Terdoslavich did his in style with an eighth-inning, go-ahead blast. The sprint around the bases that gave us the quickest trot of the night was just icing on the cake.
