Trot Times for June 29, 2015

It’s been a couple of days, so let’s get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Grady Sizemore, Tampa Bay Rays – 19.16 seconds [video]
Cleveland’s starting pitcher on Monday was Cody Anderson, a rookie making only his second career start. That didn’t stop the Cleveland hurler from taking a perfect game into the seventh inning. Thankfully for the Rays, Sizemore was there in the seventh to knock this ball over the wall and end the bid for perfection. It wasn’t enough to lead the Rays to victory, however.

We should also make a quick mention of Carlos Correa who, on Sunday, sprinted out a Little League home run. After his popfly fell between the Yankees outfielders, Correa began hustling towards home. The ball was bobbled some and Correa managed to make the turn at third and score. His trot time clocked in at 16.19 seconds, which, while fast, isn’t all that speedy for an inside-the-park home run. This is most likely a result of Correa not running hard to first base when the ball initially looked like a routine pop-up.

Slowest Trot: Carlos Corporan, Texas Rangers – 25.98 seconds [video]
Corporan edges out Houston’s Jose Altuve (25.65 seconds) and his Rangers teammate Mitch Moreland (25.17 seconds) for the slowest trot of the day.

Quickest Trot: Grady Sizemore, Tampa Bay Rays – 19.16 seconds [video]
Colorado’s Charlie Blackmon was the only other slugger to notch a trot under 20-seconds on Monday.
