Trot Times for June 27, 2015

Summer is officially a week old and yet there were three rainouts and one suspended game yesterday. Get with the program, Mother Nature! Now let’s get to the trots.

Home Run of the Day: Carlos Correa, Houston Astros – 21.38 seconds [video]
The Astros didn’t end up winning this game, but Correa earns the Home Run of the Day for continuing to be awesome. It’s hard to remember sometimes that the 20-year-old has only been in the majors for three weeks, but he has. It’s amazing how many good young players are playing today. What a treat.

Slowest Trot: Brian McCann, New York Yankees – 25.42 seconds [video]
The 11th career grand slam for McCann. The Yankees catcher barely edges out Houston’s Chris Carter, who clocked in at 25.39 seconds later in the same game.

Quickest Trot: Curtis Granderson, New York Mets – 18.07 seconds [video]
The Reds/Mets game was suspended in the sixth inning on Saturday and will be completed today. I don’t know what that means, technically, for this Granderson home run, but it seems reasonable to include him in today’s trots.

On Friday, St. Louis’s Greg Garcia slugged his first career home run and emphatically sped home in only 17.43 seconds to big cheers from his teammates.
