Trot Times for June 23, 2015

You’ll go head-over-heels for these home runs. Let’s get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Luis Valbuena #2, Houston Astros – 24.85 seconds [video]
You’d think a two-home run game would be enough to earn Home Run of the Day honors, but that’s not why Valbuena gets the nod today. No, you can thank Angels’ right fielder Kole Calhoun for that. With the home run barely hooking fair in the right field corner at Angel Stadium, Calhoun came flying over trying to make the play. Instead of coming down with the ball, however, Calhoun came down on the wrong side of the waist-high fence. It’s not everyday that a home run sends both the ball and the outfielder over the wall, but Valbuena made it happen on Tuesday night!

Slowest Trot: Wilin Rosario, Colorado Rockies – 25.99 seconds [video]
Rosario beats out Toronto’s Dioner Navarro by more than a second for the slowest trot of the night.

Quickest Trot: Curtis Granderson, New York Mets – 18.87 seconds [video]
A handful of speedy trots on Tuesday, with Granderson besting them all.
