Trot Times for June 12, 2015

Let’s get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Jose Abreu, Chicago White Sox – 22.77 seconds [video]
Just your typical home run. You know, when you swat at a pitch at your eyes way off the plate and it screams down the line and off of the opposite field foul pole for a home run. Typical.

Slowest Trot: Starlin Castro, Chicago Cubs – 26.01 seconds [video]
Castro nearly falls out of his shoes reaching for the pitch and then watches and waits as it goes down the third base line to see if it will end up fair. Castro edges past Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera (25.75 seconds) for the slowest trot of the day.

Quickest Trot: Carlos Correa, Houston Astros – 18.88* seconds [video]
The Houston prospect hammers the second blast of his young career and races home.

About Larry Granillo

Larry Granillo has been writing Wezen Ball since 2008 and has dealt with such touchy topics as Charlie Brown's baseball stats and Ferris Bueller's day off. In 2010, he got the bright idea to time every home run trot in baseball; he has been missing ever since.
