Trot Times for July 19, 2015

Getting back in the swing of things, so let’s get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Kolten Wong, St. Louis Cardinals – 21.61 seconds [video]
This 13th-inning home run didn’t win the game or anything, but it was a key moment in extending the contest into the 18-inning crapfest it turned into (seriously, the Mets left 25 men on base but somehow still won the game). Wong connected in the bottom of the 13th to tie the game after the Mets made it 1-0 in the top half of the inning.

I wonder just how long it took for Wong and his teammates to regret his home run.

Slowest Trot: Ryan Howard, Philadelphia Phillies – 25.47 seconds [video]
Howard strolls past Adam Jones (25.03 seconds) for the day’s slowest trot.

Quickest Trot: Lorenzo Cain, Kansas City Royals – 20.04 seconds [video]
One of the rare days where the quickest trot of the day is over 20-seconds long.

About Larry Granillo

Larry Granillo has been writing Wezen Ball since 2008 and has dealt with such touchy topics as Charlie Brown's baseball stats and Ferris Bueller's day off. In 2010, he got the bright idea to time every home run trot in baseball; he has been missing ever since.
