Trot Times for July 18, 2015

Welcome to the second half* of the 2015 season (even if it is one day late)! It’s all downhill from here. Let’s get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Jose Bautista, Toronto Blue Jays – N/A seconds [video]
The highlights from this game didn’t allow a true trot time to be calculated, but it’s okay. With a blast like this, all you need to watch is how far the ball flies.

Slowest Trot: Aramis Ramirez, Milwaukee Brewers – 25.86 seconds [video]
Ramirez watches this ball fly for a moment after connecting with it at the plate. It’s enough to give Ramirez the slowest trot of the day, edging out New York’s Brian McCann (25.57 seconds).

Quickest Trot: David Peralta, Arizona Diamondbacks – 19.82 seconds [video]
Peralta earned the quickest trot of the day in the big leagues, but there was a better trot in the Pan-Am Games. San Diego minor leaguer Tyson Gillies, playing for Team Canada, launched a home run in their game against Team Puerto Rico on Saturday. Gillies sped home in only 15.97 seconds, even tapping his wrist to his teammates as if to say “Time how fast I go!” The kid should be fun to watch once he makes the bigs.
