Trot Times for April 16, 2015

This is going to have to be a short one, so let’s get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Paul Goldschmidt, Arizona Diamondbacks – 21.55 seconds [video]
Perhaps Wilmer Flores’ game-tying, three-run blast deserves this recognition more than Goldy’s deep shot into the bleachers, I dunno. All I know is that this is the home run I want to watch over-and-over again from Thursday.

Also hitting a home run Thursday? Miami’s Giancarlo Stanton, who had yet to go yard on the season.

Slowest Trot: Lorenzo Cain, Kansas City Royals – 24.44 seconds [video]
The slowest trot of the day wasn’t really all that slow.

Quickest Trot: Michael Taylor, Washington Nationals – 18.14 seconds [video]
A beautiful spring for Taylor. Tampa Bay’s Tim Beckham had a nice quick trot as well.

About Larry Granillo

Larry Granillo has been writing Wezen Ball since 2008 and has dealt with such touchy topics as Charlie Brown's baseball stats and Ferris Bueller's day off. In 2010, he got the bright idea to time every home run trot in baseball; he has been missing ever since.
