Trot Times for May 24, 2014

Hope everyone is enjoying the gorgeous weather this weekend. Let’s get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: George Springer #1 & #2, Houston Astros – 23.19 seconds [video]
Geor-gie! Geor-gie! Geor-gie! (Hmm, maybe it doesn’t work quite as well as “Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry!”)

And, yes, Springer did manage two identical tater trot times for his two two-run homers on Saturday.

Slowest Trot: Adrian Beltre, Texas Rangers – 24.86 seconds [video]
Beltre barely edges out Carlos Quentin (24.51 seconds) despite this Puig-esque bat flip from Quentin.

Quickest Trot: Ian Desmond, Washington Nationals – 18.66 seconds [video]
Nice trot from Desmond. Though someone should talk to Gerrit Cole and tell him that people don’t like it when players have big, excitable displays following home runs.
