Trot Times for April 7, 2014

We can blame the rain for there only being seven games around the majors on Monday, but the scarcity of home runs (only six throughout the league) will have to be blamed on something else. I suggest Miley Cyrus.

Let’s get to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies – 20.89 seconds [video]
Not a lot to choose from here, so how about this laser from Carlos Gonzalez into the Coors Field seats? It’s the first home run of the year where Gonzalez didn’t take his time to admire it.

Slowest Trot: Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado Rockies – 23.78 seconds [video]
Well, someone has to be slowest!

Quickest Trot: Ben Zobrist, Tampa Bay Rays – 19.64 seconds [video]
And someone has to be fastest. Zobrist’s first home run of the year was a sky-high pop up down the left field line.

All of Today's Trots

Troy Tulowitzki..23.78
Carlos Corporan..23.1
Derek Norris.....22.7
Carlos Gonzalez..20.89
Kole Calhoun.....20.53
Ben Zobrist......19.64

About Larry Granillo

Larry Granillo has been writing Wezen Ball since 2008 and has dealt with such touchy topics as Charlie Brown's baseball stats and Ferris Bueller's day off. In 2010, he got the bright idea to time every home run trot in baseball; he has been missing ever since.
