Trot Times for May 3, 2013

On a day where ESPN Playbook mentions my excitement at having Adam Rosales back in the lineup and healthy, he hits his first home run of the season. Very nice to see.

Let's get to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: John Buck, New York Mets – 22.42 seconds [video]
Ten home runs for John Buck already? Really? How did that happen?

Slowest Trot: Matt Holliday, St. Louis Cardinals – 25.15* seconds [video]
This one is actually a bit tough to tell exactly which foot touched home plate for Holliday. It's technically possible that the 25.04 second trot from Mark Reynolds is the slowest of the day. However, this 25.15 second trot time represents what seems to be the earliest possible step Holliday could have taken on home plate. If the time is inaccurate, it is much more likely to be slower than quicker.

Quickest Trot: Adam Rosales, Oakland Atletics – 16.24 seconds [video]
It's good to have Rosales back and sprinting. I've said this before, but it's exponentially more true for him: it's remarkable that this incredibly quick trot time comes about even though he slowed down so considerably at the end there. Imagine how fast the trot could have been if Rosales had been able to run through the bag instead of slowing down because the A's dugout is on the third base side of Yankee Stadium. Curses!
