Trot Times for June 20, 2013

Let's get right to the trots!

Home Run of the Day: Carlos Pena, Houston Astros – 26.92* seconds [video]
A monster of a home run for Pena as the Astros walkoff against the Brewers in the tenth inning. The remarkable thing about this trot isn't how slow it feels, but the fact that it's a) only the third slowest trot of the day and b) not even the slowest trot from an Astro on the day!

Slowest Trot: David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox – 27.04 seconds [video]
It was really a banner day for slow trots. While this 27-second trot from Papi qualifies as a speedy trot for the Boston DH, it is still, in all regards, a monstrously slow trip around the bases. Behind Papi was Houston's Carlos Corporan who had no excuse for his 26.97 second trot. At least when Pena took 26.97 seconds to come home later in the game, it's because he was celebrating a walkoff. To top off the day's slow trots, Tampa Bay's Yunel Escobar had a 25.9 second trot in Yankee Stadium.

Quickest Trot: Yasiel Puig, Los Angeles Dodgers – 17.52 seconds [video]
And then there's Puig Mania! I was a little worried that Puig had already grown tired of hitting home runs after seeing his 19.3 second trot on Wednesday, but I feel better now. 17.5 seconds is what I want to see!
