A quick note on the state of the Tater Trot Tracker in 2016: We’re a month into the season and, if you hadn’t noticed already, the Tater Trot Tracker isn’t updating much anymore. I decided, quietly, at the start of the year to end the daily Tater Trot Tracker updates this year.
The Tracker started on a whim in 2010, making 2016 the seventh season of its existence. That’s a lot of time to dedicate to watching and recording every single home run in a season and it seemed like the right time to wind things down. This became clear to me at the end of last year, when, for the second season in a row, I couldn’t maintain the grind for all 162 games.
Let’s call this a semi-retirement. I’m not completely done. The <a href=”https://twitter.com/tatertrottrkr”>Tater Trot Tracker twitter account</a> is still open, cataloging each and every one of Big Papi’s final season home runs, as well as responding to anyone who asks about a specific trot time. Satisfy your Tracker cravings there.
Meanwhile, I am going to take a lesson from the patron saint of the Tracker and remember to savor the moment for one final season.
