Home Run of the Day: Josh Phegley, Chicago White Sox – 20.82 seconds [video]
There's an episode of "Parks and Rec" where Ron becomes so obsessed with the shoe shines that Andy gives that he ends up, ahem, taking it a bit too far. Home run calls like this one from Hawk Harrelson remind me an uneasy amount of that particular episode.
Slowest Trot: Asdrubal Cabrera, Cleveland Indians – 24.29 seconds [video]
Asdrubal Cabrera has never been known as a quick trotter, so when I noticed him watching this ball for so long as it hovered near the foul pole, I thought for sure this would be a trot to remember. As it is, though, he came in at a very standard 24-second timeframe, barely beating out Chris Davis and Luke Scott.
Quickest Trot: Carlos Gomez, Milwaukee Brewers – 17.57 seconds [video]
Nice to see you speeding around the bases again, Carlos, but 17.5 seconds just isn't going to cut it anymore. To break the top 10 quickest trots list, your trot need to be under 16.9 seconds. Get on it.
