Slowest Trot: Bobby Abreu, Los Angeles Angels – 28.13 seconds [video]
Besides, we get to mention Bobby here. Abreu is a slow trotter to begin with. When you add a walkoff celebration into a mob of Angels, it’s just going to get that much slower. This was actually the second-slowest walkoff trot of the year (Orlando Cabrera‘s 28.9 second trot from May still stands at number one).
St. Louis’ Chris Carpenter hit a home run, too – the second of his career. It was a nice little trot, though, timing out at 26.39 seconds.
Quickest Trot: B.J. Upton, Tampa Bay Rays – 19.5 seconds [video]
Upton was only one of two players to come in under twenty seconds yesterday, and the other just happened to be his teammate, Ben Zobrist.
