Home Run of the Day: Evan Longoria, Tampa Bay Rays (Trot Time: 21.15 seconds) [video]
It was a horrible night for Mets fans, and a great one for Phillies fans, when Johan Santana surrendered four home runs to the Phils in the Mets 10-5 loss on ESPN. Shane Victorino socked a grand slam one batter after Santanta walked pitcher Jamie Moyer with the bases loaded, and Chase Utley closed out the night with laser to right field. The home run of the day, though, goes to Evan Longoria, whose sixth inning solo blast off Zack Greinke broke the shutout and gave the Rays the only run it would need on the day. Greinke, despite his 2.27 ERA, is still winless on the year.

Slowest Trot: Hanley Ramirez, Florida Marlins #1 – 25.48 seconds [video]
Alfonso Soriano and Hanley Ramirez each hit two home runs yesterday afternoon. The fastest of the four trots was 24.11 seconds. Hanley’s first blast of the day, though, was the winner. Paul Konerko, Scott Hairston, and Rod Barajas were all in the mix as well.
Quickest Trot: Brett Gardner, New York Yankees – 18.98 seconds [video]
On Twitter yesterday, Keith Law wrote: “Buehrle gave up a home run to Brett Gardner … that about sinks his Hall of Fame case, doesn’t it?” Well, at least Mark didn’t have wait long for Gardner to round the bases after he ruined his Hall chances. As a pitcher who likes to move fast, I’m sure Buehrle appreciated it.
