Brandon Barnes accomplishes something Ian Desmond only wished he could. Let’s get to the trots!
For the second time in June, Brandon Barnes hustled his away around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. As with just about every inside-the-parker in history, Barnes benefitted greatly from a bad misplay from Giants’ center fielder Angel Pagan. When the ball bounced passed the diving Pagan, Barnes turned it up, ultimately scoring in only 15.15 seconds (a quarter-second faster than his previous 15.4 seconds). To top it off, the home run came in the ninth inning and gave the Rockies the go-ahead run for good. It’s the type of at-bat kids dream of in the backyard.

Davis takes his time going around the bases to beat out Ryan Braun with the slowest trot of the day.
Quickest Trot: Brandon Barnes, Colorado Rockies – 15.15 seconds [video]
Hunter Pence, who thought for a moment that his ball was caught, came home with the quickest traditional trot of the day at 18.1 seconds. In Milwaukee, Reds’ speedster Billy Hamilton hit his third homer of the year. While he sped around the bases, Hamilton slowed down into a walk as he approached the plate. Yet another victim of the third-base dugout blues.
