Sorry for yet another abbreviated post. I went to the Brewers/Dodgers game this afternoon and it kept me from getting to this until late in the evening. Hopefully things will settle down soon. In the meantime, don’t miss the Michael Jordan Home Run Trot post from this morning…

Home Run of the Day: Willie Bloomquist, Kansas City Royals (Trot Time: 23.76 seconds) [video]

Huh? Willie Bloomquist? Of the Royals? Hitting a 12th inning home run to put the Royals ahead for good? Yeah, I know, I don’t believe it either.

Slowest Trot: Aramis Ramirez, Chicago Cubs – 26.29 seconds [video]

Vladimir Guerrero comes in with the second slowest trot of the day at 25.89 seconds, but it’s Aramis Ramirez‘s eighth inning blast that takes the cake.

Quickest Trot: Michael Bourn, Houston Astros – 19.57 seconds [video]

Strange day for quick trots, as the only two sub-twenty second trots were in the same game and only 0.02 seconds apart. Jayson Werth comes in with the second quickest trot of the day at 19.59 seconds, but Bourn just beats him out.

About Larry Granillo

Larry Granillo has been writing Wezen Ball since 2008 and has dealt with such touchy topics as Charlie Brown's baseball stats and Ferris Bueller's day off. In 2010, he got the bright idea to time every home run trot in baseball; he has been missing ever since.
